Haze PSI reaches 140! A natural cure against dengue?

The 3 hourly PSI reached a high of 140 today (as of 815pm). This PSI is the highest that is recorded in Singapore since many many years ago. The skies today are choked-full of haze and I found myself coughing as I walked along the streets today. With such a high PSI, I wondered whether the mosquitoes which caused the epidemic we see in Singapore are also being affected? I believe so and I hope that these mosquitoes will be subdued with these haze particles so that at least one good thing arises from this heavy haze. If my above thinking proves to be correct, then when the haze subsides, then we can see the dengue cases subsiding too?

Singapore Haze

The skies over Singapore was still choked full of haze, but it is slightly better than yesterday as yesterday was extremely hot besides the skies being choked full of haze. I did not see yesterday’s haze getting better over Saturday’s but one local newspapers still carried the headline that yesterday’s haze was better than Saturday’s. What caused the haze? Heng Chee How: the next NTUC Chief?

Heng Chee How was shown interviewed on National Television yesterday night. I have noticed that there is an increasing media exposure of Heng Chee How ever since Ong Ye Kung, Desmond Choo and Alex Yam left NTUC. I think that this may be due to the fact that Heng, a Deputy Secretary General in NTUC could be groomed for the top post of NTUC taking over from Lim Swee Say at a time when there are not many other suitable candidates. Some have put forth the name of Heng Swee Keat as another likely candidate but I would think that Heng should be assuming an even more important portfolio, possibly Minister of Finance in future.
